The Pelissero family has been cultivating vineyards in Treiso, in the heart of the Barbaresco DOCG appellation (Piedmont), for three generations. Many gradual changes have been performed by each successive generation, but the philosophy remains constant: continuous improvement in the vineyard and in the cellar to ensure the high quality of the wines every year. Pelissero prides themselves on their passion, commitment and innovation. Today, the estate owns and manages 42 ha of indigenous vines in a completely sustainable way. Thanks to oenologist Giorgio Pelissero at the helm of the winery, Pelissero has grown into a reference brand for Barbaresco.
1 BOTTLE OF BARBARESCO NUBIOLA DOCG, 2020, PELISSERO, PIEDMONT, ITALY
100% Nebbiolo. Fermented and macerated in stainless steel with frequent battonage before aging in a mix of 50L oak casks and small barrique. A nose that is classically Barbaresco in its mix of tart cranberry and other red fruit, violets and other floral notes, with a background of herbal brightness. Intense ruby robe. Remarkably soft and silky at the opening, the tannins build up with a few sips to remind you that this is still Nebbiolo.
1 BOTTLE OF PIANI DOC, 2021, PELISSERO, PIEDMONT, ITALY
100% Barbera. Maceration in stainless steel cask, then ageing for about 8-9 months in oak barrels (30-40% in barrique and the remaining in 50 hl barrels). Notes of blackberry and plum. The colour is red ruby bright and intense. Barbera’s amplitude is very interesting together with its persistent finish.
