Gitton Père & Fils is a distinguished family-run estate in the Loire Valley, founded in 1945 by Marcel and Huguette Gitton. Starting with just half a hectare of vines near Ménétréol‑sous‑Sancerre, the domaine has grown to span approximately 33 hectares across prestigious appellations like Sancerre, Pouilly‑Fumé, and Coteaux du Giennois. Today, the estate is led by Marcel’s son Pascal, his wife Denise, and granddaughter Chanel—though the name “Père & Fils” (“Father and Son”) remains as a nod to its origins. They’re celebrated for their parcel-specific, terroir-driven wines—especially their expressive Sauvignon Blancs grown on varied soils like flint and chalk, vinified and bottled separately to highlight each vineyard’s unique character.
