Fattoria Montecchio is located in the village of San Donato in Poggio, in the Chianti Classico wine zone. In 1973, the Nuti Family purchased this estate formerly owned by the famous Torrigiani family who ran a successful wine business at the property since the 1300’s. Ivo Nuti, along with his wife Maria and three sons, Andrea, Fabrizio and Riccardo decided to restore it to its old splendor. They renovated the main house, and after extensive agronomic and geological investigations, a brand new winery was built and new vines were planted. Today, Fafforia Montecchio is a very-well respected winery in Tuscany producing truly unique wines.
