This is where it all began. The 2002 NeroMàccarj is not just a wine, it’s a living piece of Gulfi’s history. Made from Nero d’Avola grown in the sun-drenched Val di Noto, this wine hails from one of Gulfi’s original single vineyards in Pachino, a site once overlooked but now cherished thanks to Vito Catania’s pioneering vision. The Màccarj cru is known for its deep clay soils and proximity to the sea, which gives this bold red both structure and finesse. 2002 was an experimental leap into the unknown, and today, it stands as a testament to the aging potential of Sicilian Nero d’Avola.

The Story
