Santalba Orange 2021

Viura is a native variety in Rioja, Santalba pays homage to it with this wonderful wine. 100% Viura. Maceration by light weekly pumping for 9 months with skin contact. Notes of mandarin, citrus, grapefruit, stone fruit, thyme and white pepper. Golden yellow layer with orange reflections. It has body and character, slightly saline.

The Story

Santalba are a family-run producer who have been working in the region since 1964 with a focus on sustainable farming, really high quality, low-yield grapes from old vines, and elegant oak use (they use a mix of American and French oak).

Taste

Good acidity that makes it fresh and a pleasant tannin that gives it good balance and structure. It has body and character, slightly saline. Persistent on the palate and a slightly sweet long finish.
