Brunello Di Montalcino (Fortuna)

La Fortuna, 2016, Tuscany, Italy

Brunello Di Montalcino (Fortuna)
Brunello Di Montalcino (Fortuna)

Family winery since 1907. 100% Brunello, aged 40 months in Slovenian oak. This is round and full of sweet, ripe cherry. Firms up as the finish plays out echoing an essence of fruit.

Food Pairings: Pairs well with heavy meat dishes such as steak, game with mushroom sauces, as well as heavy pasta dishes, stews and strong cheeses.

Tasting notes: The bouquet is of intense graphite, rust, morello cherry dipped in chocolate, mint, dry hay and violet. Tastes of black truffle, violet, licorice and plum. Rich alcoholic content, wide tannin, initially velvety, then ending a bit dry. Medium-bodied, with a long aromatic persistence.
