This family run estate is located in the village of Tarsac, where this small, close-knit group work tirelessly to bring to market a small but quality range of 'must-taste' cognac delights. They are all about tradition and working in harmony with nature. This house has always embraced methods of cognac production without the use of filtration or additives. Bourgoin produces this 2010 Cognac Bourgoin Double Lies 70cl, a fortified wine from Cognac with grapes from 2010. DOUBLE-LIE is distilled with the double of lees usually contained in the vin de chauffe. This cognac contains 200 mg/L of esters. That is three times more than the rate obtained with traditional distillation on lees. It is the Maillard reaction between the lees and the copper in the still during the cooking of the wine for heating that allows this exceptional extraction of esters. This unprecedented technique gives DOUBLE-LIE an incomparable aromatic intensity.
