We are pleased to introduce our next Charlie's Burgers wine and food feature: a package themed around one of our favourite luxury pairings: Caviar and Champagne. We wanted this package to truly be a celebration of the best of the best, so we sourced what we believe is one of the top caviars: Majestic Caviar. 

Majestic source from one of the largest Russian Sturgeon farms, with the highest standards for production, which is why their caviar is served at The French Laundry in Napa, every Alain Ducasse restaurant, Le Bernardin in New York, and nearly every Michelin three star in Paris. Creamy and opulent in texture, this Osetra caviar is fresh, unpasteurized and cured in the more refined “Malossol” (less salty) style. This is the ne plus ultra of culinary caviar, and to accompany it we are packaging some elegant serving accoutrements, including a package of blinis, along with three bottles of one of our favourite champagnes: Frerejean Frères Brut Premier Cru. 

The official Champagne of the Michelin Guide in France, this wine comes from a small family-run winery located in Avize, in the heart of Champagne. It is run by three brothers: Guillaume, Richard and Rodolphe Frerejean-Taittinger (yes, the same Taittinger family that owned and ran the famous Taittinger Champagne house). Frerejean Frères Brut Premier Cru is remarkable for its elegance, depth of flavour, and the balance between fruit flavours (that come from high quality grapes), and the classic “Champagne flavours” that come from the long sur lie aging time (five years). This is one of the best food-friendly Champagnes on the planet, and one that will pair perfectly with this level of quality caviar. 

 

The Champagne

Three (3) Bottles of NV Frerejean Frères Premiere Cru Brut 

This is world-class Champagne made by a family with generations of knowledge. A blend of 50% whole Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir sourced from Premiere Cru and Grand Cru vineyards. It goes through full malolactic conversion, and is aged for five years on lees before bottling in 2013. It has a soft mousse with a much broader and fuller texture than most Champagnes, deep flavours of baked and dried apples, honey and almonds on the nose, with brioche, honey and white peach on the palate. 

 

The Caviar

A 50gr tin of Osetra caviar (perfect for four guests) with all the accoutrements you need, including:

- A package of blini 

- A caviar key (to open the tin)

- A mother of pearl caviar spoon, which you can use for soft boiled eggs after you finish the caviar!
