Domaine Emile Cheysson, established in 1868 by Émile Cheysson, is a historic winery located in Chiroubles, one of the ten crus of Beaujolais, France. The estate encompasses 26 hectares of vineyards primarily planted with Gamay grapes. Notably, it features a 17th-century cellar originally built by the monks of Cluny Abbey, which remains in use today. Under the management of Jean-Pierre Large for the past two decades, the winery has gained recognition for producing elegant, aromatic wines that embody the unique terroir of Chiroubles. Their offerings include the "Traditionnelle" cuvée, known for its soft and fruity profile, as well as "La Précieuse" and "La Secrète," crafted from select vineyard plots. Additionally, the estate has ventured into white wine production with "L'Exception," a Chardonnay planted on a distinguished terroir within the Chiroubles appellation. Domaine Cheysson continues to uphold its rich winemaking heritage, producing wines that reflect the distinctive character of their vineyards and the Chiroubles region.
